Tornadoes are very dangerous, and they will do a lot of damage to anything that gets in its path. A tornado can pick up a house and throw it miles away from where it was. It can put pieces of hay through concrete: that's how strong it is. This destructor can destroy fields, homes, buildings and much more. They range in size, but the bigger in size it gets, the bigger the path of destruction there will be. It can take a whole town in a few minutes and all you will see is debris from all the stuff that it has destroyed. You can tell when a tornado is coming because it will sound like a train. The wind will be still and if there is rain, it will stop, too. Then you will see one coming your way or it will drop right over you.
A few months ago in Council Puffs, Iowa, there was a tornado and it destroyed the middle of a
Wal-Mart store. My cousin, who was working, was in there at the time and saw the middle of the roof cave in and almost crashed onto someone. A woman was in the doorway, and she got pulled right out into the parking lot. I was told that she was ok. It took out the power and it knocked down power lines. They had to watch all night because they had a few other tornadoes in other nearby areas, and they were coming their way. Did you know that it can follow and chase you? It can pick you up and kill you. It is rare to survive a confrontation with a tornado if it manages to pick you up.
I had seen on TV that a baby was taken by a tornado, and she was found many, many miles from her mother and where the tornado had taken her in the first place. Miraculously, she was alive and was doing just fine. If you get under a bridge for protection, it will save your life. You can get in a ditch or in a storm salon but you have to stay away from the door because it can rip the door off the hinges and pull you right out. You can also go into a room that has no windows in it so it will not shatter on you. Watch out for tornadoes by keeping up to date on the weather news to be better prepared.
