It is getting more common that people travel across different countries to conduct businesses. Nowadays, business is done internationally which makes translation services in demand. Due to the strong demand, many translation agencies are engaged to translate business documents, website, software, etc.
As there are so many translation agencies around, where do you start to look for a translation service and how can you know if they will do a good job for you? In this article, I will share with you some useful insights on how to find the best translation service for your business.
First of all, let me tell you the 3 different ways to look for a translation service. The first way is to check out your local directory such as Yellow Pages. Simply look up under the Translation category and you will be able to find a couple of them.
Next, you can go online and visit any one of the popular search engines like Google and Yahoo. By searching on search engines, you will be presented with hundreds of listings. Using search engines to look for a translations service is one of my favourite methods because you can be more specific with your search. If you are looking for a local translation agency, you can type "translation service Singapore". If you are looking for a specific language translation, you can also type something like "Japanese translation".
The last mean to find a translation service is to ask for recommendation. Try asking your friends, family and business associates for personal recommendation.
After you have a list of the translation agencies you want to contact, the next step is to prepare the necessary information so that you can get an accurate quote. Any translation agency will like to know the language to be translated; format and nature of the text, and when you need to the translation work to be ready and delivered. When you are speaking to a customer service agent from the agency, make sure that you explain your needs to him or her clearly. You should ask them the right question so that they can get a decent grasp of your expectation.
Last but not least, when appointing the translation agency for your work, you need to base the service on cost, location and speed of service. There are no hard and fast rules on choosing the right agency for your business. Choose the one that you feel comfortable with.
However, if when asking questions to a translation agency, you feel a level of uncertainty, then it may be best to go to someone that seems to know that you want and how to give it to you.
